The Maitreya Project has achieved significant progress over the last 15 years and is steadily moving ahead. To date, the Project has achieved the following:

The Maitreya Project has been offered 750 acres of land at no cost to the Project

The Project has substantially completed the Scheme Design phase of the engineering work.

The Project enjoys goodwill from millions of people who have by now come into contact with the Project through the general, spiritual, engineering and technical media, and the millions who have visited or heard about the Project through the highly successful Maitreya Project Heart Shrine Relic Tour.

The Project is poised to work as soon as the new site is officially handed over to the Project, which is expected to be by the end of 2004.

The Project owns freehold, 30 acres (12 hectares) of prime land in Bodhgaya, Bihar State, India, and for which appropriate development plans as a Buddhist school, monastery, and major venue for Buddhist teachings are underway.
