Some say it is better to spend money helping
the poor by charity. While it is extremely
important to provide food, medicine, education
and shelter to the poor, this is not the main
method for ending their suffering.
On its own, giving money, food, shelter, etc.
will not change people's minds from creating
the karma causing poverty, disease and other
problems; it will not change their negative
actions, therefore it won ’t end their suffering.
That change comes only from loving-kindness.
The Maitreya Buddha statue will plant the
inspiration for developing loving-kindness
within the individual, family, community and
world. Just seeing the statue, even only seeing
a picture of the statue, will plant a seed that
will eventually the lead to peerless happiness. |
